Philip Payne, Ph.D., joins Biomedical Informatics and the Information Warehouse(IW) as the Medical Center's first Translational Research Informatics Architect (TRA).

A new kind of architect has joined the Medical Center. He is not part of the 15-year Master Space Plan. Instead he is charged with guiding the development of informatics services that facilitate translational research. In January Philip Payne, PhD, joined the Information Warehouse (IW) and the Department of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) as the Medical Center's first Translational Research Informatics Architect (TRA). As a TRA, his primary role will be to serve as a liaison between the research community and the departments of IS and BMI.
