DIALOGUE Kick-Off a Success

Friday 08/26/2005

The First DIALOGUE Workshop was profiled in an article in Science Grid This Week, an online publication informing the grid community and interested public about the people and projects involved in U.S. science grid computing.

The workshop, held August 1 and 2 at the Blackwell Inn on the OSU campus, brought together nearly 30 researchers and faculty from 13 institutions, in order to share information about their current grid technologies and to discuss enhancements and future integration. This workshop was the first in a series of three to be held. The next will take place some time in December 2005, in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The immediate goal of the DIALOGUE workshops is to incrementally produce a roadmap for data access and integration (DAI) development and provide accessible input to future projects and standards. The long-range goal is to bring together researchers and developers to create a framework that composes a range of complementary technologies and research efforts in order to make these readily available to researchers and scientific organizations world-wide.
