Stephen is currently co-Director of the Software Research Institute (SRI) in the Center of IT Innovations in Health Care (CITIH) at the Ohio State University where he investigates his current interests in the areas of security, grid computing, high performance distributed computing and large scale data management. Stephen is also a Senior Researcher and Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Ohio State University.
Stephen is a Director of the caGrid Knowledge Center. The caGrid project is an open source grid software infrastructure aimed at enabling multi-institutional data sharing and analysis. is open source grid software infrastructure aimed at enabling multi-institutional data sharing and analysis. Stephen also is the lead security architect for caGrid, in that role he created and architected the GAARDS Security Infrastructure, which provides services and tools for the administration and enforcement of security policy in an enterprise Grid.
Stephen received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Buffalo and his M.S. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Previously he worked as a Research Scientist at General Electric's Global Research Center in the Visualization and Computer Vision and Advanced Computing Technologies Laboratories.
