Dr. Lai is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University. He is also the Associate Director of the Biomedical Informatics Program for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) at The Ohio State University. Dr. Lai earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics from Columbia University, where his research focused on remote training of older adults to use the IDEATel telemedicine system. He also received bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from Columbia University's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Research
Dr. Lai's research interests include: 1) telemedicine to support chronic disease management, 2) high throughput phenotype modeling and extraction, and 3) the evaluation and usability of human computer interfaces for electronic health records.
