Currently, I am working on histopathological image analysis, an emerging field in medical image analysis due to the recent developments in high resolution digital tissue slide scanners. In clinical practice, the qualitative visual examination of histology slides is tedious, not reproducible and often subject to significant inter- and intra-reader variations. Our goal is to improve the clinical predictions of cancer prognosis using image analysis and image understanding by extracting more objective and precise diagnostic clues from the digitized tissue slides.
